Located in the Sierra foothills of Nevada County, Lake Wildwood is a gated community with over 2,800 lots and a population of more than 5,000 residents. Lake Wildwood is near Penn Valley, 10 miles west of Grass Valley just off Highway 20. This all-age community includes professional, business, and retired persons. Amenities include golf, tennis, swimming, fishing, boating, and there are over 40 clubs covering various interests. The native wildlife roams free, and includes deer, turkeys, Canadian geese, ducks, and the occasional rabbit or eagle. Snowfall is rare, as the homes range from 1200 to 1500 feet in elevation.
With 32 miles of well-maintained paved roads and 24-hour security patrol, Lake Wildwood has a 300-acre lake for swimming, fishing, boating, and water-skiing, accessible from an 80-slip Marina, and several boat launching ramps. Sixty-five acres of parks and greenbelts, including five developed and well-maintained parks for recreation, swimming, barbecue, picnicking, and sunbathing. There are six tennis courts and a 42 x 75 swimming pool available for members and their guests.
The Lake Wildwood Golf Course is a full 18-hole course meticulously-maintained, and open year-round. It is 6,508 yards and is rated 71.0 from the Championship tees (Slope 127). The rolling course is lined with mature oak trees, the back nine is at times hilly, and water comes into play on five holes. Any member can play 18 holes for $26. Annual passes are available for $640, with no additional green fees. Golf facilities include a driving range, practice area, putting green, and a full-service Pro Shop.
The adjacent 12,000 square-foot Clubhouse has a bar & cocktail lounge, outdoor deck for dining and cocktails, both with spectacular views of the golf course. The Clubhouse has two main dining rooms, the fully-staffed Pine Room, which serves meals daily and the Cedar Room, which is used for larger meetings, performing arts productions, and special functions.
